Modalities and general intervention procedures in physiotherapy: electrotherapy, ultrasonotherapy, magnetic therapy, laser therapy.
Electrotherapy involves the study of the application of electricity as a therapeutic agent in a broad sense as used by some applications of electricity directly but also includes another set of techniques where electricity undergoes a transformation into another type of prior energy before being applied to the patient. It also includes the study of physiological effects caused by the passage of electrical current or another form of energy within the body, its consequences and spillover effects, application techniques, and indications and contraindications.
His teaching material included within the General Procedures in Physical Therapy Intervention in the second semester of second year, has a duration of 6 ECTS credits, is an integral part of the curriculum that leads to the award of the Degree in Physiotherapy and its study is common in all the universities in which taught the graduate degree.
The electric treatment, in all its forms, is one of the pillars in the workplace in which the therapist can develop their nursing care in both the private and in public. For this reason, it is crucial that the future holds adequate professional therapist training in this field and to keep a line of constant training in this area, strengthening the theoretical and practical studies taught at undergraduate and postgraduate.
