Knowing how the plant performs its vital functions such as nutrition, absorption and transport of water, minerals and photoassimilates and development processes and reproduction. Also, issues related to hormonal and environmental effects on plant development, content that is ultimately the basis of agricultural production.
Plant Physiology course is included in the obligatory module common content of this degree and belongs to the field of Plant Production Bases. It will be taught in the second semester of the second year and consists of 4.5 ECTS credits. The knowledge to bring the subject of Plant Physiology, and other subjects of this block, will form the basis for a better understanding of other specific matters of degree and allow to homogenize the knowledge level of the students facing the following specific matters . These skills are considered essential for any graduate of this degree and are the underpinning analytical skills and reasoning, as well as the criteria that the university can acquire professional. In turn, those who are on the one hand, we distinguish training, and on the other, allow access to a master's level, especially at doctoral and research.
Specifically the subject of Plant Physiology will provide basic knowledge on the functioning of plants as living beings, who make up the general knowledge in the subjects of advanced courses will be based. Specifically, with regard to the plant world, Plant Physiology will be the basis of subjects such as Plant Breeding, Pomology, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Horticulture, Gardening, Ornamental Crops Engineering and Green Areas and Crop Protection, among others.
