The course will allow the assimilation of the microbiological fundaments for prevention and control of infectious diseases of relevance in the health environment and particularly in the podiatric office. The students should acquire a basic knowledge of Microbiology, that, at the same time, would facilitate the understanding of microorganisms behaviour and pathogenesis, the identification of different possible sources of infectious agents, as well as the deduction of the proper prevention methods. Finally, the course provides a solid microbiological basis for the adequate podiatric practice.
