UMH - DIDACTIC UNIT 2: CONTINUOUS SYSTEMS.

Description

We study the modeling and analysis of continuous systems. The models of physical systems, such as mechanical, electrical and thermal are introduced and their stability and behavior in time and in frequency are studied. System linearization is studied.

Objectives

Modeling continuous, discrete and sampled systems
Study the stability of continuous systems from its transfer function.
Analyzing the dynamic behavior of continuous systems in the time and in the frequency domains.
Identify continuous systems based on their responses to different inputs.
Modeling and analizing the behavior of typical mechanical, electrical and thermic systems.
Understand and appropriately use the terminology of the subject (signals, systems, transforms, transfer functions).
To apply the properties of Fourier transforms, Laplace and Z in systems theory.
To linearize nonlinear systems around an operating point.
Obtain the transfer function in the Laplace domain of a continuous system from its differential equation.
