ORDINARY CALL
1st OPTION: Continuous assessment
The final mark (F) of the subject is calculated according to the following expression: Final = Exams + Project
1) Exams (7 points): 3 exams will be taken during the whole semester. The student will have to deal successfully with questions, practical exercises, SQL and PL/SQL.
2) Project (3 points): it will be done in groups of 2-3 students. They will have to develop a database throughout the semester by applying the concepts studied in the subject.
To pass the subject, the student has to get at least 40% of the grade in each of the partial exams, 50% in the project and the final grade has to be greater than or equal to 5. If not, the student will fail the course even if the sum of both parts is greater than or equal to 5. In that case the final grade will be 4.5. If the Project of any of the partial exams is not submitted, the final mark will be “Not submitted”.
2nd OPTION: Final assessment
The final mark will be calculated according to the following expression:
Final = Theoretical exam + Practical exam.
1) Theoretical exam (4 points): questions and exercises.
2) Practical exam (6 points): SQL and PL/SQL exercises.
To pass the subject, the student has to pass both exams separately. If not, the student will fail the course even if the sum of both parts is greater than of equal to 5. In that case, the final grade will be 4.5. It the student doesn’t take an exam, the final grade will be “Not submitted”.
EXTRAORDINARY CALL (SEPTEMBER, DECEMBER)
The qualification criteria will be those specified in 2nd OPTION of the Ordinary call.
