a) Theory (25%): 30 test questions (1 option from 4 possible).
b) Practice (35%): Practical case using statistical analysis. Exam will conducted using SPSS software and the students may consult their materials.
c) Continuous assessment (40%):
c.1.) Application of scientific method (15%). In groups of up to 3 people: literature search on a free-choice topic, stablishing problem, hypothesis, variables and instruments.
c.2.) Measurement and experimental control (15%). After the practice at the Sport Reserach Centre, groups of maximum 3 students should send the Excel file used to prepare a database that will be used in subsequent sessions for statistical analysis. The task includes: a) a detailed description of the assigned test protocol; b) design a protocol to test the hypothesis addressed in the practice session; c) identify errors and propose solutions for its control from those used in practice.
c.3.) Solve 4-5 short question with regards to a meta-analysis aplied to high performance (10%)
A basic skills with MS Excel is required (2013 o superior)
A) THEORETICAL EXAM (25%): The student cannot use own materials during some questions of the exam (no penalty on the mistakes) and can use material for other question (with a penalty of 33% in whole exam).
B) PRACTICAL EXAM (35%): responses to the questions requested on a SPSS database.
C.1.) TASK 1 (DOCUMENTARY SEARCH AND STUDY DESIGN, 15%, see absolute scores for later calculations): key-words (1), databases used (0,5), format and relevance of the references (3), history of the problem (4), problem (1), study hypothesis (1), sample (1), dependent variables (1), independent variables (1) and instruments (1).
C.2) TASK 2 (MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE, 15%): measurement protocol assigned randomly in 1st practical lesson (3), own measurement protocol (4), 2 points x 4 tasks of errors analysis in the measurement procedures and solutions for control: precision tasks, physical condition, coordination and throwing.
C.3. TASK 3 (META-ANALYSIS CASE, 10%): 5 questions x 2 points on a real case of meta-analysis.
It must approve each component separately to promote on the subject. It can promote on the subject with a remark above 4.5 points in a), b) or c) above, but always with an above 6 points mean score.
