Description

This course strives for students to learn the basics of emergency health care in the hospital emergency department, to understand the operation of the main action protocols and their procedures in the hospital emergency area and the diagnostic approaches to perform, as well as learn the immediate treatment and identify time-dependent diseases in the hospital emergency department of cardiovascular, neurological, pneumological, digestive, and infectious syndromes.

Know the action protocol for performing correct triage in disaster situations or accidents involving multiple victims.

Methodology

Case studies: Learning through the analysis of actual or simulated cases in order to interpret and resolve them by employing various alternative solution procedures.
Learning agreement: Develop active learning through an agreement between the teacher and the student containing commitments for what will be learned, how monitoring will take place for that learning, the set period of time, and the evaluation criteria.
Lecture: Pass on knowledge and activate cognitive processes in students, encouraging their participation.
