Specific regulations
This section's main objective is to present some guidelines and a common framework for the Final Master's Project.
The main basis of this course is the fulfillment of a project preferably professional in nature that may be set at a particular business or institution, which is then defended orally before an examining committee.
The project's specific content must cover aspects from the three prevention specialties and demonstrate student mastery of the basic concepts and techniques studied. The professional competencies from the area of occupational risk prevention must be evident throughout the project, in addition to the transversal competencies from the program's three specialties.
The project's general objective consists in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating an intervention project within the occupational risk prevention framework in organizations that is based on a thorough analysis of the needs of a productive organization that freely chooses the student following prior consultation with his or her project advisor.
Likewise, and following authorization by the advisor of the assigned project, the Final Master's Project may consist of experimental work or literature review and research, provided that it applies the competencies acquired in the program, and is transversal in nature, employing techniques and knowledge from the prevention specialties that are of a technical nature.
The project's structure must contain at least the following sections: summary, introduction, justification, objectives, body of the applied or research project, conclusions, bibliography, annexes.
Students are supervised by master's faculty and/or professionals related to the sector the project develops in. Each student must publicly defend his or her work before an examining committee lasting approximately 15 minutes. The presentation constitutes one of the grading criteria, and any support resources deemed necessary may be utilized. Upon conclusion of the presentation, the examining committee members have their turn to intervene. The student will be given the time needed to answer the questions posed and the clarifications requested. A committee will be formed for grading the final master's project.
Grading criteria are explained in the master's specific online platform (http://umh.otp.es/).
