Evaluation of the knowledge of the student can be through: continuous assessment which is broken down into the following sections: exam: 60%; Laboratory practice: 20%; Seminar on a research article: 20%; Each student must necessarily perform all three types of evaluations and also must, as a condition necessary and essential, take a note equal to or greater than 5 in the corresponding test evaluation to be able to pass the course. Test (maximum score: 60%).
There will be a final exam which will consist of two sections. One of them consists of a questionnaire with questions of multiple response, with 4 alternative responses, in which only 1 is right or wrong, depending on what indicates the statement. Each 3 wrong answers will be deducted on a successful response. Not answered questions are not scored negatively. The second section will consist of short questions about different aspects of the agenda and related issues. The effort of scientific reasoning used to solve different issues of the review, as well as brevity and specificity in the responses will be evaluated. Students may review their exams in the days announced for this purpose, on request by email. Not be accepted at any time questions about how an activity was evaluated scoring. Those missing the exam, whatever the cause, will be considered not shown for all purposes.
Laboratory practice: 20%.
They will be given 8 practice sessions of 2.5-hour each. Attendance is compulsory so that they are valued at the final evaluation. A booklet of practices in which described the results obtained and the interpretation thereof, as well as observations that the student creates relevant outline must be presented. Practice notebook, unless otherwise specified, shall be delivered a week after the practice, through the implementation of tasks of the website of the subject. Evaluation of experimental activities will take place by tracking the realization, interest, performance and achievement in the implementation of them in the laboratory.
Seminar on a scientific article: 20%. Each student (or group of 2 students) must submit a work based on the critical reading of original research work chosen among those proposed by the teacher. This presentation will include a section of the methods and results obtained by the authors and the student must perform an own conclusion on the exposed work. Evaluation of this concept, as well as the presentation and defense of the work, it will take into account attendance and participation in all scheduled seminars. Students suspended or not presented shall retain for calls for the academic year the score accumulated through continuous evaluation, unless they wish to voluntarily renounce her/his decision that must communicate to the teacher at the beginning of the course.
Unique assessment system: It will be possible to make a final test on all the skills for the subject (theory, practices and seminars) which will be valued over 10. For performing this test the student must request it 15 school days before the date of examination approved by the Council of degree.
