The subject will be assessed by adding the grade obtained in the exam (70% of the final grade) and the grade obtained from the practicals (30% of the final grade)
The exam will be written and will have two different parts: Theory and Problems.
The theory part will correspond to 30-40 multiple choice questions.
The problem part will consist in the development and resolution of several calculation exercises.
The theory grade will have a weight of 30% in the evaluation of the exam and it will be necessary to obtain at least 35% in this part. The part of problems will have a weight of 70% in the evaluation of the exam and it will be necessary to obtain at least 35% in this part. If the minimum is not exceeded in any of the parts, the grade obtained will be suspended. Likewise, it will be necessary to obtain a 40% global mark in the exam. The final grade of the subject will be the grade obtained in the exam plus the grade obtained in practices.
The practices will be evaluated with the assistance and realization of them and a final test on the tasks carried out and the knowledge acquired. The student may waive the continuous assessment, in which case the final grade will be obtained from the theory and problems exam (80%) and the practical exam (20%).
Theory: Each wrong answer will subtract 1/3 of the correct answer. Unanswered questions will not be subtracted.
Practical issues: Any conceptual error will suppose at least the loss of 50% of the valuation of the question. The errors of calculation when the result is reasonable and the procedure is correct, complete and well explained will subtract at least 25%. Errors of fundamental concepts will suppose the loss of 100% of the valuation of the question.
Practical exam: Each wrong answer will subtract 1/3 of correct answer. Unanswered questions will not be subtracted.
Practical work: The quality and complexity of the work delivered will be assessed.
The continuous evaluation note will be valid for the June, September and December exams of the year in which the works are carried out and of the immediately subsequent one in case of not passing the subject in the first year. In case of not passing the subject in the following year to which the work was done, the continuous assessment note will be lost.
