Description

Knowledge of the formal structure of a project and its execution process. Ability to lead, execute, and interpret a project and comprehensive action plans. Ability to develop and manage health and safety studies in agribusiness projects. Writing, direction, execution, and control of technical projects.

Professional interest

One of the functions that the engineer can have in his professional development is her of giving solutions to diverse problems and needs that appear him in the field of the engineering. To fulfill this function, the engineer has to know each of the own technologies about his speciality, but in addition it has to know the way of integrating these in more complex systems, which serve to give solutions to equally complex problems. Here solution is tried to give to this need of the engineer, beside other knowledge related to the projects provides in him engineering, since it are the programming of the execution of the projects, the study of the safety against fires in the industrial establishments, the safety during the execution of the works, etc.

Capacity for planning, design, drafting, and signing projects in construction, remodeling, repair, conservation, demolition, manufacturing, installation, assembly, and the exploitation of moveable and immovable goods and property that due their nature and features are included within the very techniques of agricultural and farm production (installations and buildings, farms, infrastructure, rural roads), the agro-food industry (extractive, fermentation, dairy, canning, fruits and vegetables, meat, fish, salted fish industries, and in general, any other dedicated to the preparation and/or processing, conservation, handling, distribution of food products), and gardening and landscaping (urban and/or rural green spaces, parks, gardens, greenhouses, urban forest, etc., public and private sporting installations, environments undergoing landscape recovery).
Adequate knowledge of the physical problems, technologies, equipment, and water and energy supply systems, the limits imposed by budgetary factors and building regulations, the relationships between installations and/or buildings with farms, agro-food industries, and spaces related to gardening and landscaping with their social and environmental surroundings, as well as the need to relate those from that environment with human needs and environmental protection.
Ability to lead the execution of works on projects related to agri-food industries, farms, green spaces and their facilities, infrastructure and installations, the prevention of risks associated with their execution, and the direction of multidisciplinary teams and human resources management in accordance with ethical standards.
Knowledge of basic, scientific, and technological matters that enable continuous learning, as well as a capacity to adapt to new situations and changing environments.

Specific competencies

Methodology and grading

Methodology

Case studies: Learning through the analysis of actual or simulated cases in order to interpret and resolve them by employing various alternative solution procedures.
Cooperative learning: Develop active learning through cooperative working strategies among students and promote shared responsibility to reach group goals.
Lecture: Pass on knowledge and activate cognitive processes in students, encouraging their participation.
Problem-based learning: Develop active learning strategies through problem solving that promote thinking, experimentation, and decision making in the student.
Project-based learning: Realization of a project to solve a problem, applying acquired learning and promoting abilities related to planning, design, performing activities, and reaching conclusions.
Solving exercises and problems: Exercise, test, and apply previous knowledge through routine repetition.

Grading

Each teacher will correspond 50% of the evaluation.

Professor Gabarrón's part will consist of a theoretical test (short questions) corresponding to 30% of the grade. The 10% corresponds to the completion of 2 practices (programming of projects and measurements -5% each-), with the remaining 10% corresponding to a work (individual) related to the preparation of the documentary part of an engineering project.

The part corresponding to Professor Pastor will consist of a practical exam of programming type PERT (40% of the grade) and the remaining 10% to the realization (individual) of a design as a solution to an engineering project, being complementary with the previous work documentary mentioned.

In both the theoretical and PERT tests, it will be necessary to obtain at least 3.5 / 10 in each one, in order to do the same with the rest.
