Academic goals
In 2008, the University of Valencia-Estudi General, Universitat Politècnica de València, University of Alicante, Universitat Jaume I, and the Miguel Hernández University of Elche signed an agreement to standardize Valencian language certification issued by their respective language services.
Then, on February 25, 2015, the agreement was partially amended and CEU Cardenal Herrera University and the Universidad Católica de Valencia San Vicente Mártir joined. Out of this amendment, the Interuniversity Commission for the Standardization of Accreditations of Knowledge of Valencian (CIEACOVA) formed on September 22, 2015, made up of technical personnel from the language services at the participating universities.
The main objectives of CIEACOVA include establishing the model for examination accreditation and coordinating interuniversity accreditation examinations that are required for obtaining Valencian knowledge certification.
CIEACOVA implements all the mechanisms necessary for ensuring that the examination procedures are applied equally for all users.
CIEACOVA has also completed a process of reviewing and updating the exam to establish the elements of standardization of the examination procedure, its administration, contents, structure, grading criteria, calls, and test model.
