Access
Royal Decree 861/2010, of 2 July, amended by Royal Decree 1393/2007, of 29 October, provides in its Article 16:
For access to official master's education, applicants must hold either an official Spanish university degree or one conferred by a higher education institution in a country belonging to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) that entitles access to master's education in such country.
Access may also be granted to those possessing a degree from an educational system outside the EHEA, without requiring its homologation, but following verification by the UMH that the degree represents an educational level that is equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degree and that it entitles access to graduate education within the issuing country. Access this way does not mean, under any circumstance, homologation of the degree the interested party holds, or its recognition for anything besides acceptance into a master's program.
Admissions
The following criteria will be assessed for program admission consideration:
- Compatibility of the applicant's degree(s) with the master's areas of knowledge.
- Academic record.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Scientific and professional activities carried out that are suited to the master's proposed curriculum.
- Indicated preference for one of the three master's specialties.
Pre-registration for the master's program is the first step in the admission process. There are two periods for this, one in June and another in September. Program admission of applicants is granted by the Student Admission Committee, whose decision is based on the preceding criteria.
At the time of enrollment, each student will state his or her preference between the specialties. A suitable distribution between them is necessary, and this must vary between 35-65%. If this does not occur, it will be resolved by the Student Admission Committee.
