The Master's in Equality and Gender in the Public and Private Spheres is taught with a distance learning format. Its lecture contents are presented online by the MoodleTM virtual learning environment, wherein a virtual classroom is designed specifically for each course in the program. However, its internships are conducted in person at the cooperating entities.
The teaching material necessary for resolving the activities that evaluate the achievement of the learning outcomes sought in each course is available to students in the master's virtual classroom. The teaching contents are reinforced with complementary material whose consultation is required and, in some cases, with supplementary material not subject to evaluation.
Each course is activated progressively and in accordance with the master's schedule (see Calendar).
Instruction is presented in accordance with the following sequence: Each course is activated on a specific day (see Calendar) for which the student has a certain number of weeks, calculated depending upon each course's credit weight, to work on the corresponding subject matter while supervised by the faculty responsible. The final week of each course's activation is for completing the continuous evaluation activities. Then, the faculty has two weeks to grade students on the level they attain each course's learning outcomes.
Upon completion of the ten 3-credit required courses from the Common Module (for 30 credits), students choose their training orientation, professional (with two distinct routes, either Equal Opportunity Agent for Men & Women or Prevention of Gender Violence) or research (with its lone route, Feminist and Gender Research).
The course load of each professional orientation route consists of 30 credits and has the following structure:
Professional orientation required courses: 10 credits
Professional orientation elective courses: 8 credits
Professional orientation internships: 6 credits
Final Master's Project (Professional): 6 credits
The research orientation, due to its particular characteristics, has the following structure:
Research orientation required courses: 12 credits
Research orientation elective courses: 6 credits
Research orientation internships: 6 credits
Final Master's Project (Research): 6 credits
Lecture credits are either required or elective in nature. Their contents refer to the courses in the professional or research orientation courses chosen by the student. The required courses from the Common Module are common to both orientations. Students who opt for the research orientation may only take elective credits from its one route.
Internship credits for the professional orientation are required. They consist in carrying out coordinated internships through the Universitat Jaume I in activities at work centers directly related with the route chosen by the student. Their objective is for the student to put into practice the competencies, abilities, and skills presented in the specific courses from the chosen orientation.
