This course and any subsequent on this subject, offers the student the opportunity to learn about the nature of human behavior and the implications that this knowledge has to explain behavior in the employment context. This knowledge is necessary for proper professional development in the field of human resource management. Aspects such as teamwork, organizational structure, the study of organizational climate, teamwork and leadership or management thereof, to name just a few examples, require a background in psychology to develop successfully. Given the increasingly complex world of work, the need for a continuing interest and extensive training in psychology by human resource professionals, will be more and more. We hope to start that interest is maintained throughout the career of the students in this course.
