Basic knowledge of general, organic, and inorganic chemistry and their applications in engineering.
The Chemical subject is in the block of basic matters of this degree and it will be given in the first semester of the first course, with 6 credits ECTS. The basic knowledge that the subject of Chemistry will contribute, as other subjects of this block, will shape the foundations for the best comprehension of the rest of specific matters of the degree. This knowledge will allow to homogenize the level of the pupils with a view to the continuation with the above mentioned matters. The basic knowledge is considered to be indispensable for any graduate of this degree, belonging to the Branch of Engineering and Architecture. They are those who sustain the capacity of analysis and of reasoning, as well as the criterion that the future professional could acquire. In turn, they are those who, on the one hand, distinguish him from the vocational training, and for other one, allow them to accede to the second university level, specially to the doctorate and to the research.
Specifically the subject of Chemistry will have to contribute the bases of the knowledge of the states of the matter, the energetic and kinetic aspects of the chemical reactions, the chemical balance and the principal chemical reactions, which will shape the general knowledge on which there will be based the subjects of top courses.
