Access network protocols. Design, implementation, and management of access networks by hardware. Next generation network technologies and protocols. Interconnection and convergence in access and backbone networks. Service integration.
The aim is to provide students with a comprehensive and integrated view of the various telecommunications networks, access and transport, on its performance and functionality. The student will obtain a critical design capability that allows choosing an appropriate solution to the needs of your environment. This course focuses primarily on public access networks and interconnection between operators, and both wired and wireless technology that supports them. Therefore a review of the evolution of access networks is made, and particular emphasis is made in ATM networks and FFTH as hardware in the loop and use interconnection with backbones operators. In addition to the technological explanation, it is based to a study by implamantación and operation of these new networks.
