The Robotics, Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence research group is comprised of teaching and research personnel assigned to the areas of knowledge of systems engineering & automation and to mechanical engineering in its research tasks and technological transfer in the following fields:
- Automation and control of industrial processes via advanced artificial intelligence techniques.
- Robotics: Design of special industrial robots, mobile robotics.
- Artificial vision: Applied to quality control and detection of defects in production chains, free-form object recognition in unstructured environments.
- Artificial intelligence: Machine learning techniques and data mining, expert systems, extraction of relevant information in large big data databases.
This research background is attested by the publication of numerous scientific papers in high-impact journals, as well as participation in important national and regional scientific congresses.
