On December 27, the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) will celebrate its twentieth birthday. This is the day that in 1996 the Cortes Valencianas approved founding the UMH, and it was a few months later, in September 1997, that the UMH began teaching its very first classes. To mark this anniversary, the UMH has constituted a commission to put several activities in motion.
The Plenary of the Board of Trustees of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) has approved in its ordinary session the academic institution's 2017 budget, a figure that increases to 101,044,627 euros. This amount represents an overall increase of 3.7% with respect to the preceding year.
The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) is a participant in the European AUTOWARE Project financed by the European Commission as part of the Digital Automation H2020 call. This project will contribute to the development of the Industry 4.0 concept, which consists in introducing digital technologies to industry and developing cyber-physical systems for the creation of smart factories (or cyber factories) capable of increased flexibility in production and greater adaptability to market needs and demands, as well as the personalization of products.
The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) and Altea Town Hall have presented the UMH Anneta Nicoli Institutional Chair of Artistic Education at the Gadea Cultural Centre. Daniel Tejero, UMH Associate Professor from the Area of Sculpture, will be chair director, and Carmen García Muriana, UMH Assistant Professor from the Area of Design, will be its secretary. Tasked with presenting this chair were UMH Rector, Jesús Pastor Ciurana, and Altea Mayor, Jaume Llinares.
The Vice Rectorate for Culture and University Extension at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) has organized, in collaboration with the SET Espai d'Art Gallery (València Xàbia), the exhibition "Common Spaces." This sampling can be viewed until February 28 in the Universitas Exhibition Room of the Rectorado and Consejo Social Building on the Elche Campus, Monday thru Friday, 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
